Blue Angels Perform At-Sea Air Show for Enterprise from www.navy.mil
The U.S. Navy flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels, conducted an at-sea air-power demonstration show above USS Enterprise (CVN 65) May 21 for a crowd of thousands of Sailors on the flight deck.
The Blue Angels were practicing for a scheduled air show at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. They amazed the crowd on the flight deck below by performing aerial maneuvers and close-formation flybys.
The six blue-and-gold F/A-18 fighter jets approached in a perfect V formation and then peeled off one by one as a greeting to the watching Sailors.
The show was a highly anticipated event on the ship, and it provided a few minutes of fun for the crew which have been conducting virtually around-the-clock flight operations in support of carrier qualifications for Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1. ...

Parker to attempt to set record at Golden West Fly-In from General Aviation News
John Parker, championship-winning pilot and builder of Reno Air Race contenders Blue Thunder and Blue Thunder II, will try to set a world record at the Golden West Fly-In in Marysville, California, June 11-13.
Parkers's race-built Thunder Mustang (Blue Thunder II looks like a ¾ scale P-51 Mustang) will be shooting for the world 100-kilometer speed record in class C1c, currently 339.51 mph. Blue Thunder set shorter-distance records (for 3km and 15km) several years ago, and still holds them, at speeds over 370 mph, according to Parker. "The 100km record, in a new machine, looks achievable," said Parker, who averaged over 350mph in Blue Thunder II at the Reno Air Races last September ...

BBMF/RAF Coningsby Hangar visit 23-5-2010 by Gary Watson
De-Brief : This weekend, was the first of two weekend openings at the BBMF visitor centre at RAF Coningsby. August is the next weekend opening event, but until then, the visitor centre, retains the monday to friday opening hours operation. I got there around eleven o clock, to join the 'tour' which had just started. Our tour guide was of the highest standards as normal for the BBMF visitor centre. Our guide, was an, ex Shackleton pilot, and gave a great talk and tour. The BBMF Dakota was 'grounded' as of 23-5-2010 due to an under-cart warning-light 'issue' in that it was 'faulty' wiring installed on the aircraft. It may take time to sort this, as the BBMF are trying to 'locate' the same type of wire, of which this aircraft was re-wired in Canada, some years ago. Shame as this aeroplane is always a welcome sight over UK airspace anytime, and until today, I never knew that this aircraft was doing 'drops' at Monte Casino during WW.2 . The only aircraft not in the hangar was a late mark Griffin-powered Spitfire, which was down at Arco at Duxford having a major-service/re-vamp. Two Spitfires were on the BBMF  ...
