Acro Camp begins

We shared on Flight Line Radio, our weekend edition, that airs every hour, on the hour (for the most part) that AcroCamp kicked off Friday, May 14.  Here's what we said - almost verbatim:

Back in January, Steve Tupper announced Acro Camp. In March, the cast was announced:  Paul Berliner, He has more than 12,000 hours of flight time and is rated to fly lots of heavy iron, including, among others, the Boeing 727, the Boeing 757, the Boeing 767, and the Lockheed L-1011.  Michelle is a psychologist and flight instructor from Manhattan Beach, California. She has about 475 hours of total flight time and usually flies Cessna training aircraft and Beech Bonanzas. Lynda is a professional pilot who flies business jets for a fractional operator. She began her aviation career flying the UH-1 Iroquois ("Huey") helicopter for the US Army. Since earning her initial pilot rating in 1993, she has built more than 5,000 hours total flight time in various rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft. Lynda is also the author of the Girls With Wings site - one of the Indy Transponder's favorites! Jim is a major and judge advocate in the US Air Force Reserve. Jim has about 300 hours of flight experience. But here's the thing - for all the experience these pilots have, none of them have much aerobatic experience.  They are all in Michigan this weekend. AcroCamp has begun. And cameras will follow them through the entire experience of learning to fly upside down.  Complete profiles and coverage of AcroCamp can be found at: AcroCamp.com

You can meet the cast here:  Acro Camp Announces Cast.

Pictures are being posted on the Fan Page that was created on Face Book.

And some of the crew has already posted a couple of pod casts for you to listen to, so you can learn more about the project.

Will and David are in Pontiac, Michigan this week for the filming of Acro Camp, the brain child of Steve Tupper. The mission?  Team four "ordinary" pilots with two aerobatic instructors and three different aerobatic airplanes, and teach them how to fly upside down … in four days. Oh, and we're going to capture it all on film. ...

and this just in ...  (I figured I'd check Twitter before pushing the publish button):
StephenForce: Great first fligt day of #AcroCamp. Something like 12 sorties. Windy but beautiful!
