Warbirds from Neptunus Lex by lex | There is something about old metal that stirs hearts young and not so young. Who among us would not want to put the spurs to an F-4U Corsair, if he had the chance? Or a Jug, or P-51? Sometimes you get the chance to turn vast quantities of ancient dinosaur into thrusties. It's easy to forget that elder aircraft come with elder risks…

Ash cloud Cessna engine damage conspiracy dispelled from Flight International by Michael | A quick blog post to dispel some ash cloud-related rumors which are spreading like wild fire at the moment. The following images were taken of a German registered Cessna Citation Jet (D-IEFA), which suffered an uncontained event in the left engine during a flight from Stuttgart to Bremen. The aircraft returned to Stuttgart and landed without incident. They're doing the rounds via email at the moment purporting to be the result of the aircraft flying through the ash cloud. That is not the case. This NTSB report features the date of the incident - 1 March 2010 - and clearly puts this at least four weeks before any ash cloud disruption occurred.

Sinful Sunday - Here It Comes! From Nordo News by Rich Davidson - The first Sinful Sunday of the year will be June 13th.  | If you've never been to one of these, you are really missing out. Created originally as an alternative to pancake breakfasts, Sinful Sundays have turned into much more. Held the second Sunday of June, July, and August, these events started out as small gatherings with ten planes being the highest turnout the first year. Last year though, this event averaged over fifty aircraft with the largest one attracting 100 planes. That's pretty amazing considering the event is officially held from 12-3 or until we run out of ice cream. But there's more; like last year, this year we will have sandwiches available from 12-2 with the ice cream actually being served from 1-3…
