Fantasy of Flight Gives "Homefront Hugs"
At Roar n' Soar, join Fantasy of Flight in recognizing the dedication and sacrifices of the U.S. military.
Homefront Hugs USA, a volunteer organization, will be at the event boxing holiday care packages to send to troops stationed overseas.
Roar n' Soar guests can receive a $5 discount by donating any of the selected items (with a limit of one discount per person).
Items include: - $20 AT&T prepaid phone card - Bulk package of beef jerky - Multi-packs of chewing gum - Packages of note cards - Packages of protein bars - Multi-packs of canned fruit - Bulk packages of hand sanitizing wipes
Roar n' Soar guests will also have an opportunity to write personal letters to the troops and help assemble care packages at the event.
Guinness World Record Holder Pushes Boundaries at Roar n' Soar
Neal Goss rocks our world, and we're betting he'll do the same for yours! Check out this enduring, thrill-seeking, gravity-defying, genuine hero during Roar n' Soar.
But you're going to have to look up to see him.
Not only was he a daring WWII bombardier with 50 missions in his book, but he is also the World's Oldest Living Hang Glider Pilot. Always eager to embrace a new challenge, Mr. Goss took up the sport at age 54, and he hasn't looked back (or should we say "down") since.
Mr. Goss, now 89, will be a featured performer at Roar n' Soar.
All the planning for Roar n' Soar has sent Fantasy of Flight into a whirlwind of activity. As the legendary Mustang Ace George Preddy would say, "Cripes A'Mighty!" It's not easy for a man-of-mystery (that's me, by the way) to find a subtle theme amidst all this inspiring chaos!
So I'll just dig into the mailbag... Here's a letter. Odd... The i's are dotted with hearts, and I detect the faint aroma of Chanel No. 5...
"An Affectionate Fan" writes: Willie, I was at the Roar 'n Soar last year. What a blast. Did I see you or was that some other dashingly handsome aviator with very good posture?
Well, Af-Fan, I sense you are a creature of some discrimination. The dashing aviator you allude to was probably none other than yours truly. Nobody has better posture. Plus Roar n' Soar is my favorite event of the year. Why, you ask? Hmmmm... Probably because it celebrates some of the most appealing aspects of humanity: fun, innovation, family, and SPEED!
Just look at all the fun I had!
Here I am on the slalom course... oops...
Maybe I'll try my hand at boat racing....
Well, the truth is I was always a flyboy at heart...
I hear through the grapevine that this year is going to be packed with even more fun and surprises. So, "Affectionate Fan," I hope I'll see you there. (If I had eyelids, I would "wink" now.)
Despite veering off into this flight of fancy, G. Willie really does want your letters and questions. Do you have a question about any aspect of Fantasy of Flight? Just send it to G. Willie via his e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Also be on the lookout for G. Willie at this year's Roar n' Soar!
