Organizers say the Muskegon Summer Celebration showed a slight profit in 2009, but they're still trying to make up for losses in 2008. In order to survive the economy and bring up attendance, the board of trustees will add an air show. The show will take place June 27 and June 27 over Muskegon Lake, but can be watched at Heritage Landing. It will start at noon and run two to two and a half hours. Summer Celebration has invited the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds and Snowbirds to take part in the air show, but no commitments have been made. ...

AIRSHOW TO RETURN TO MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN
Muskegon, MI – Thrilling aerobatic and military displays will take to the skies over Muskegon, Michigan in 2010. As a new component of Muskegon Summer Celebration, a popular regional music festival, the airshow will take place over Muskegon Lake on June 26th and 27th, 2010. "We expect that the airshow will breath new life into Summer Celebration as the event enters its 18th year", says Muskegon Summer Celebration Executive Director, Joe Austin. The airshow will highlight the first weekend of the 11-day event, which concludes on July 4th. Event organizers hope that the show will gain the same popularity as the Muskegon's Air Fair that ran from 1983 to 2006 and featured world-class aerobatic performers and military jet teams.
