Arch Rallies Under Pressure To Keep Title Hopes Alive - Red Bull Air Racing
Hannes Arch of Austria posted the fastest time in Qualifying at the Red Bull Air Race World Championship on Saturday in front of a record-breaking crowd of 350,000 and picked up a crucial 1 point to narrow Paul Bonhomme's lead in the championship to 3 points ahead of Sunday's grand finale in Barcelona. Bonhomme, hoping to win his first title after finishing a heart-breaking second in both 2007 and 2008, was a distant 4th in Qualifying behind Arch, Nicolas Ivanoff of France and Australia's Matt Hall. Spain's Alejandro Maclean qualified for the Top 12 with a promising 10th place.
Arch, who now has 52 championship points to Bonhomme's 55, had struggled badly in the first Qualifying session. The defending champion hit a pylon ...

Today was an overall success for Team #99. After a pretty huge double pylon hit in yesterday's windy final practice, we approached today with a bit of caution as the wind conditions seemed to mimic yesterday. This seemed confirmed by the fact that the first pilot (Hannes Arch) had a pylon hit in the Quadro during his first flight.
With that in mind, I took off making sure ...

Badass Experimental from AviationBull
The Bear 360 exploded onto the experimental aircraft scene at this years Airventure. A combination of styles this warbird 'esque creation takes inspiration from both the P-51 and Bearcat. The radial engine screams Cat while the laminar flow wing is Mustang all the way.
Designed to be a meet both Russian and U.S. military standards this partnership between Sergei Yakolev, and Skip Holm looks to be a whole lot of fun. 360 horses, 210 knot cruise and a 180 degree/second roll rate mean it's got more than enough to keep me interested. Of course I was hooked at radial engine...
