Bidding for Lindbergh Foundation On-Line Auction is Open Now
MINNEAPOLIS (April 6, 2010) — The Lindbergh Foundation announced that—in conjunction with the 32nd Annual Lindbergh Award Celebration, bidding officially opened today, for its fourth “On-line Silent Auction.” According to Larry Williams, Foundation Chairman, President and CEO, “This year’s fundraiser auction features several once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Rather than limit these fantastic offerings to just those attending our Award Celebration, we are delighted to make them available to Lindbergh Foundation supporters and aviation enthusiasts everywhere on-line.”
The items up for bid include:
· A 10-day African Safari for four with renowned author (“Dangerous Beauty”) and guide Mark Ross
· Fantastic Day at King Schools and Dinner with John and Martha King
· Aerobatic flight with famed airshow performer Sean Tucker
· Ride with “Fantasy of Flight” Director—and well-known collector—Kermit Weeks in his P-51
· Garmin Aera 560
· Bronze sculpture by Erik Lindbergh
· Garmin Nuvi 1490T, and
· Forward Vision’s enhanced vision system EVS-100 camera, STC kit and “Flipper” Display
The 2010 Lindbergh Award Celebration at Sun ‘n Fun will include a reception, live auction, dinner along with presentations by Cessna CEO Mr. Jack Pelton and Michael L. Ducker, Chief Operating Officer of FedEx Express, John and Martha King, and other notable Lindbergh Foundation Board Members will be on hand to represent the Foundation.
Williams added that, “There’s an interesting twist to this year’s auction”, noting that there will be the opportunity for attendees at the Award Celebration will have the chance to bid “live” as well. “We’re anticipating some lively bidding to take place in real time, at the very last minute, so it should be especially exciting for our crowd at Sun ‘n Fun,” he added.
