Thunderbirds meet Air Force legend - Air Combat Command
The heritage of the U.S. Air Force is filled with heroes -- many of whom Airmen can name quite easily, including Wilbur and Orville Wright, Jimmy Doolittle and Chuck Yeager.
Although he may not be quite as well known, Col. Bob McCormick's efforts in the 1950s helped change the face of aviation forever.
Now retired and living near Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., Colonel McCormick attended Eglin's 75th anniversary open house and air show April 10, sporting a bright blue flight suit, and with the patch he designed, Colonel McCormick proudly represented his legacy as one of the original Thunderbirds. ...

N14 Flying W Airport - Red Star Pilots Association - Yak-52 & CJ-6A Flight from Diamond Pilots
IN THIS VIDEO, watch as I climb into the back seat of a Yak-52 for a formation flight over Central Jersey and Pennsylvania. We took off from Flying W's Runway 1 and proceeded north, as weather reports stated that better ceilings and visibility were north of us, rather than south. In fact, it did drizzle and flurry on us just prior to engine start. Take note of when I zoom in on the aircraft and note that the wing-men have FULL CONCENTRATION on a fixed point of lead's airplane. The Red Star Pilots Association held a small gathering at the Flying W Airport to help "scrape off the rust" with formation flying in preparation for the warmer weather, airshow season, and upcoming fly-ins later on in the year, to include a larger formation flyover at EAA Oshkosh this summer.
I would like to thank Tim Stevens for arranging this flight and for Reade Genzlinger for taking me up in his gorgeous Yak-52. Tim, as in the other flight video, is flying his gorgeous red Yak-52. ...
