Each May, the airport group hosts an Annual Spring Fly In offering an opportunity for youngsters from 8-17 years old to take a free flight and learn about becoming a pilot. Hundreds of area kids had their first ever flight as a Wetumpka EAA Young Eagle and often return for yet another ride.  Savannah Weaver at age sixteen was among those Young Eagles last May.
