Airplane Encyclopedia: Wright Flyer II from You Fly, Girl
The Flyer II was the second powered aircraft built by Wilbur and Orville Wright, in 1904. The design of the Flyer II was very similar to the original 1903 Flyer, but with a slightly more powerful engine and construction using white pine instead of the spruce they used in the 1903 machine as well as the gliders of 1900-1902. An important change was reducing the wing camber to 1-in-25 from the 1-in-20 used in 1903. The brothers felt that less camber would reduce drag though less lift was actually achieved. With these alterations Flyer II was heavier by some 200 pounds than the 1903 machine. ...

Royce Baar more info from World Airshow News Forum
... ROYCE LOVED TO FLY! He also obtained his private pilot's license and flew and taught others how to fly ultra-light gliders.
For a time, Royce worked as a stuntman with Mohr Barnstorming. He performed a transfer act from the cockpit of an airplane to the skid of a helicopter in midair without a chute. The transfer was extremely dangerous and was booked across America and in some other countries as well. By Royce's own admission, this was the greatest time of his life. "The Death Defier" will be deeply missed and always remembered by his family and friends.

'He was the best of the best' from madisoncourier.com
Dr. H. Schirmer Riley touched so many lives in different ways, but the threads that ran through the thoughts of people he knew were respect, thoughtfulness and caring.
"Each and every one of us should take a moment of silent prayer and thanksgiving for God allowing us to have such a fine man in our community," Dr. William E. "Bill" Stucker said Monday.
Stucker, a retired dentist, knew Riley for many years, including more than two decades that Riley, until his death, was the Jefferson County health officer. Stucker has been chairman of the Jefferson County Health Board for almost 53 years.
The friend who knew Riley the best, his flying partner and friend of more than 40 years, Jim Pirtle, quoted what someone said about Lawrence of Arabia: "He was the most extraordinary man I've ever known," and added, "All of our adventures we started as friends but we ended as brothers." ...

McNaughton takes to the skies ... - The Daily Eagle
Famous German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche once said "He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying."
This sentiment implies that one must not rush into anything, but take the time to fully understand something before accomplishing the feat.
This is exactly the path that led Gloria McNaughton to the skies again after a 44 year hiatus from the yolk of a plane.
Last winter Windsor Manor asked its residents about their dreams with the goal to make them come true. ...
