MINOT, N.D. — There will not be an air show at Minot Air Force Base this year — in large part because the base is busy.
Base spokeswoman Laurie Arellano says there are several projected deployments for the 5th Bomb Wing units. She says there also are some scheduling conflicts with major aerial demonstration acts.
The base is still planning an open house on Sept. 11. About 9,000 people attended the open house last year, which included an air show.

Behind the Scenes of Racing: Red Bull Air Race Logistics from Kirby Chambliss
Preparations for the first race of the 2010 season are well underway here in Abu Dhabi. Our team hangar has been assembled and our technician Jason is feverishly working to get the Edge race ready. This year, Red Bull Air Race is introducing a new HD camera system that all of the teams are currently installing. It may seem like a small detail but adding a large electrical box with a battery to power the camera system brings up concerns of plane weight and the CG (center of gravity). We're dealing with these issues as well as adjusting minor things on the plane to comply with new rules and regulations for 2010. Right now, the most important thing is to ensure we are ready to SMOKE ON come race day in our blazing fast machine. ...

Be sure to tune in to Discovery's Science Channel on April 2nd at 8 PM ET for a fantastic look at the Sukhoi SU26M. The show is in HD and will be repeated several times during the week following April 2nd at different times. Rick Volker was filmed flying the SU26M at the Windsor International Airshow last summer from multiple cockpit cams, helicopters, towers, and ground crew for this expose on how man and machine can be built to take the punishment of extreme air show flight. DVD Review: British Airshows 2009 by Flightline UK
The British Airshows compilation videos and DVDs have become something of an institution for airshow fans. With clips from all the major airshows up and down the country, there's no more comprehensive coverage than this. The package arrives on two DVDs. DVD 1 is the main feature while DVD 2 is exclusively Planes TV's trademark interactive in-cockpit footage.
For DVD 1, footage is obtained from all the official DVD's as well as some bespoke footage from other events. In the past, this has looked a little ragged on Video format, however the chapter format on DVD suits it well. For Planes TV to get to all the events featured in this DVD would be an impossible task, so other production companies have contributed footage from the likes of...

I'm going to Camp. Acrocamp story and photo from Life on the Road as a Pilot | I've been alluding to some the many great things on the horizon for Girls With Wings, and one of those things is Acrocamp. Although admittedly I'm the only GWW going, this event is going to be made into a documentary featuring yours truly, the Executive Director of GWW. So any publicity arising from my upside down exploits benefits the organization, no?
I know... you're confused. In the words of Inigo Montoya, "Let me 'splain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up."
A couple of months ago I heard about a project a guy I had met at Sun n Fun was working on: Acrocamp.
