CELEBRATING the P-51MUSTANG… A WELCOME BLAST FROM THE PAST

Kick off your summer June 11th-13th with one of Indiana’s best family entertainment values—The Indianapolis Air Show

Indianapolis, Indiana -The Indianapolis Air Show officials announced today that the World’s only P-51 Horsemen Aerobatic Team will headline this year’s show. These 3 authentic P-51 Mustangs served in WWII and their aerobatic routines remind us of how these powerful machines influenced the outcome of WWII.

The show will be held on June 12th & 13th with Friday the 11th serving as Practice and Media. The Military class will also be represented by the USAF A-10 (Thunderbolt II) East Demo Team, US Navy F/A-18 E/F (Super Hornets), and a USAF Heritage flight coupled with a P-51.

Red Bull Air Race champion, Michael Goulian and his Extra300SHP is just one of the exciting civilian performances scheduled this year.  Also taking off from the Indy Air Show in 2010:  Franklin’s Flying Circus & Air Shows presents Sons of Legends, the E Team Skydivers--jumping with the world’s largest flag, John Klatt is fast & furious in his Staudacher S-300D, Red Eagle Air Sports with Magic in the Air, Bill Braack’s Smoke N Thunder Jet Truck, Billy Werth and the Pitts S2C presented by Grayout Aerosports, and Kent Pietsch sponsored by Jelly Belly.

Meet real-life heroes, local authors and hear their stories by visiting the Military Veteran’s tent featuring USS Indianapolis Survivors area. Plan to spend the entire day!  There is plenty of great summer food and fun for the entire family!  Wander through acres of event attractions including: Warbirds, hot air balloons, car show, kid’s zone, military history encampment, and more. By the time the aerial portion of the show begins around noon, you’ll be settled in along the flight line eating a pulled pork sandwich, corn on the cob and strawberry shortcake with the kids and marveling at a show of raw power and aerobatic brilliance!
