The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the 75th Anniversary Eglin Air Force Base Air Show will be held on the installation Apr. 10-11, 2010. Gates open at exactly 9 a.m. Any early airshow arrivals will be asked to wait or vectored away to ensure traffic flow continues. Corpus Christi real estate broker O.K. Smith, 85, will fly again Monday in a B-24 bomber more than 65 years after his last wartime mission on Dec. 12, 1944.
"It's a chapter in my life I'll always remember," Smith said, "especially walking along that bomb bay catwalk with wire cutters to cut loose live bombs that got stuck. You want to get rid of those suckers fast."
