There has been a fair amount of speculation as to the identify of this aircraft, but nobody in my aviation community guessed this one: The plane is a extremely rare 1934 DC-2, one of only two remaining in the world. It is owned by the Seattle Museum of Flight and is based at Van Nuys Airport (VNY)
