Aircraft Flying Over Sacramento Region September 5-14 Military and Civilian Flyovers for Air Force Week and the Airshow

Sacramento County, CA - Military and civilian aircraft are expected tofly over the Sacramento region periodically from Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 14 in support of the Air Force Week and the2009 California Capital Airshow.

Operation of military aircraft may be noticeably louder than aircraft that regularly operate in the Sacramento region. Aircraft flight demonstration or aerobatic maneuvers are not anticipated during the week preceding the airshow. However, such maneuvers may be part of the arrival and practice sessions of the U.S. Air Force Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds.

All complaints related to aircraft noise should be directed to the Sacramento County Noise Office at (916) 874-0800. Please mention if the complaint may be related to military or airshow aircraft.

The fourth annual California Capital Airshow takes place at Mather Airport on September 12 and 13, 2009. This year's show is the culmination of Air Force Week in Sacramento, and features performances by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. The airshow will also host a varietyof civilian aerobatic performers, vintage aircraft, warbirds and more.The exciting F-22 will also return to the region's skies during the 2009 event.

The California Capital Airshow is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporationcreated by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors to promote and showcase the role aviation plays as an economic engine in the greater Sacramento region. The mission of the California Capital Airshow will, in part, be accomplished by giving back to the community through the awarding of scholarships for individuals interested in pursuing careersin aviation, aeronautics and aerospace.
