Join the Hangar Flying with Pilot Kent and Pilot Mike with Aviation Podcasters from around the country at Aviation Podapalooza 2009 at EAA AirVenture 2009 in Oshkosh, WI. Recorded Friday, JuArmadillo Aerospace did it! from RLV and Space Transport News
I see that the judges have now officially confirmed that Armadillo Aerospace completed both flights within the rules. Congratulations again to the Armadillo team on a tremendous accomplishment! Masten Space and Unreasonable Rocket will still have their chances to take away the prize by October 31st but at least we know for sure that there will be a first place winner for Level II this year. Can't find any videos yet of the flights but more pictures have been posted:

Armadillo flight video from RLV and Space Transport News
Jeff Foust has posted a video of the first flight of the Armadillo Scorpius (Super MOD) vehicle. The vehicle looks really rock steady and smooth from beginning to end, especially compared to the flights I saw in person at the previous NG-LLC events.
Armadillo managed to beat the weather and any technical gremlins on Saturday with a pair of successful Level 2 flights, ensuring that they at least qualify for the prize. (Because of the nature of the competition, they won’t know until the end of October, when the competition season closes, if in fact they have won first prize in Level 2 of the Lunar Lander Challenge.) Below is a collection of photos with highlights of the day, from the long wait in Armadillo’s hangar for the rain to clear to the flights and the celebration afterwards.Armadillo Level 2 Flight 1 from Personal Spaceflight by Jeff Foust
Here’s a video I shot of Armadillo’s first leg of the Level 2 flight on Saturday. This was shot from a distance of about 1,500 feet from the pads, the designated safety boundary. This is considerably closer than the distance the public and media witnessed similar LLC flights in past years.Dramatic photos from Caddo Mills from RLV and Space Transport News
I know the rain was annoying for those involved in the event and nearly stopped the whole show, but it sure led to some outrageously cool pictures, especially in this set by Will Pomerantz.
