Indy Transponder 8-SEP-09 0030z

Thoughts on our fellow flyers on Labor Day from UCAP Fodder by (Dave Higdon)
Sometimes we seem to take for granted the luxury of our end-of-summer holiday, our last long-weekend opportunity until Thanksgiving and one that comes while the weather is still good enough to enjoy pretty much anything we want to pursue...save for skiing, maybe...
But the occasion is more than an excuse for some extra discount shopping, one last getaway to the campground or even a short holiday trip via private plane.
This holiday, helped into existence by a then more-influential Labor Movement is a reminder of all those

Major John Klatt of the Air National Guard will be behind the controls of a Staudacher S-300 at the Cleveland National Air Show today. The Staudacher is among the smallest planes that's performing this weekend at the show. Barely half a ton, it's built for stunts, not combat. ideastream®'s Eric Wellman spoke with Klatt about what it's like in the cockpit during all those twists and turns.

Blue Angels highlight free Fallon air show - NevadaAppeal.com
The Naval Air Station Fallon Air Show, after an eight-year absence, is returning this year on Sept. 11 with a few extra twists.
But one event remains constant. The one-day air show will feature the world famous Blue Angels.
Rick Lattin, who served on the original committee in the late 1980s, said the show initially was a joint effort between the base and the community, and he added the community approached the base about having the show.
He said a few members of the committee remembered air shows from the 1950s and thought it would be ideal to bring them back. ...

Shuttleworth visit 6-9-09 by Gary Watson
Shuttleworths Military show was good as normal, although I have to say that my old man did not get the 'old farty' rate which I thought took the p*ss. The day was blessed with good weather, although the wind did get up in the afternoon, things went pretty smooth. The main reason for going was the Hawker Demon newbie of Skysport engineering, which after displaying at Duxford showed up with Cliff Goldspink at the controls. Great performance from him and the machine.
The D.H. Comet racer was out doing a taxi-run, so I took the chance to 'snap' it outside for a change. Avro Lancaster from BBMF made ...
