Hannes Arch (1st) threw down the gauntlet against a trio of challengers hot on his heels with a sizzling time in Qualifying 2, jumping up from fifth to first by flying nearly six seconds faster. **EDIT This is not my video, I found it on youtube**
"Wife and I were flying in our RV-8 in a nearby Military Operation Area and got jumped by a couple A-10's. We invited them to do the intercept so even though we were expecting it, we didn't know from which direction and what they were going to do. They had as much fun as we did. I unfortunately didn't get it all on tape. We had our dogs with us on our laps while this was going on! Must have looked funny from their perspective. "

Arty's Ultimate Ultralight Adventure from AviationBull
Some pilots might look at the Maxair Drifter and ask, "where's the rest?" Others take one look and see a front-row ticket to fun and adventure. I think I fall into that second group and I'm pretty sure that Arty Trost does too. The AOPA pointed me to a recent article about Arty making a stop in Beaumont Texas recently. An ultralight (E-LSA) flying around Texas..."so what" you ask? Well, she started in Oregon...she's flying to Sun 'n Fun and then she's flying home. What a great aviation adventure to undertake!
