Top Gun pilot leads Hubble 'mission impossible' - Times Online
When Nasa came up with the idea of sending seven astronauts to save the HubbleSpace Telescope, it seemed to be a case of Mission: Impossible. So dangerouswas the plan that it was scrapped.

As Hubble marked its 19th anniversary yesterday, Captain Scott Altman and hiscrew began final preparations for a daring mission in which they will launchfrom Florida on the space shuttle Atlantis, chase and capture the telescopeat 17,500mph (128,000km/h), then clamber on board to service it whiledrifting 304 miles above Earth.
