BIRMINGHAM AL- Southern Museum of Flight will host the First Annual Southeastern Aviation Art Expo on December 5, 2008, an exciting two-day exposition for all who love and appreciate aircraft and aviation art. The Southeastern Aviation Art Expo will feature artists from various disciplines, including drawing and illustration, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and sculpture, among many others.
The main event will be a Friday night gala, December 5, 2008 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm, featuring a wine and cheese party, as well as a live jazz band as a fundraising event for the museum. The Southeastern Aviation Art Expo will be open to the public on Saturday, December 6 from 10:00 until 3:00 pm, giving museum visitors and patrons the opportunity to view the art and speak with the artists.
The Southern Museum of Flight offers four main exhibit halls, a climate controlled environment, rest rooms, a gift shop, meeting rooms, and shop facilities against an excellent backdrop of full-scale aircraft diorama displays and exhibits. New to a blog near you - Flight Line Internet Radio! from Rodney's Aviation Ramblings
It has been an interesting few days for me and this blog. A few days ago I was contacted by Don of Flight Line Internet Radio asking if I was interested in putting out an audio version of some of my blog content. I have never considered doing this before [I figure I'd get bored with the sound of my voice quite quickly - and so would everyone else! No cheeky responses required, thank you!], but after a couple of discussions in email and on Skype, I've decided to give it a go!
At this stage, there will be occasional pieces put together every now and then, commenting on some of the things I've experienced in GA flying in New Zealand. My first piece has been submitted, and it's loosely based on Remembrance Day 2008 flying display at Masterton from the past week ....
