NAS Pensacola- The World's only flying FJ-4 Fury landed gear up on its belly during a Thursday practice session for the Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow about 1:00pm. A small grass fire, quickly extinguished, did not harm the aircraft. The pilot of the single seat aircraft was unhurt. After a short delay, the practice show continued. The FJ-4B Fury and a F-18 Super Hornet were to have performed a Navy Legacy Flight during the airshow. Other performers in the practice line-up today including the Blue Angels completed their performances. Indiana Aerospace Company Completes Successful First Test Flight from Headlines - Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick
Muncie-based Indiana Unmanned Aircraft Systems (IUAS) says its Im VII Air Vehicle Two took its first successful test flight. This represents more than six years of research and development of a small flying wing aircraft that does not require an onboard flight computer to remain stable in the air. The aircraft is integrated to hyper-spectral cameras to capture precise agriculture images used by growers to determine the health of their crops, insect infestation and storm damage assessment. IUAS will be working with universities, agriculture business and farmers across the state of Indiana.
