A few from a rather cold and breezy Old Warden display. Unfortunately the sun didn't quite break through for most of the afternoon and the breezy conditions didn't help the programme too nuch as the Ryan PT 22 and Pup, 504k unfortunately had stay firmly on the ground.

Is Sun 'N Fun, Like, Over? - AVweb, CT - Paul Bertorelli
We are contemplating the larger metaphysical question of whether this annual spring show is in decline, destined for that boneyard occupied by the Reading Airshow and the Bendix Cup Race. I'm raising it here because in the river of e-mail that flows ...

P-51D Ride from Military Photos by Kaasjager
So, today yours truly made a ride in the backseat op a P-51D Mustang and it was ****ING AWESOME. My boss was asked to fly over a ww2 memorial service in my hometown and I asked if I could tag along and I could. So after taking off we immediately made a tight turn and after some playing around we made some low passes over the crowd followed by a victory roll and then back to base where we did a high speed low pass (600kph at 30ish meters). Pretty much the most awesome thing I have ever done. So here are the pics

San Diego Course from Team Bonhomme #55 Pit-News
What a great spot for an air race… we're back in San Diego and Team Bonhomme arrived yesterday ready for racing. We've saved a little bit of weight since we got back from Abu Dhabi. Wade, Jim and Tex worked hard on the plane and we're all set. The track here is the same as last year… after the start gate it's a slight right turn into the chicane followed by a right into gate 3 and then a hard left turn into 4 before a long stretch to a right turning quaddro and then a right turn to the last gate… there are two laps of the course and the fun here will be the turn in to gate 4 and the turn into the last gate… both easy to do with a relaxed turn but more challenging to turn in tight to save time. Another fun challenge will be the start speed because I don't think we'll have the luxury of a straight run in here (there's a nuclear powered aircraft carrier in the way!)… so watch out for some track time being thrown away as pilots try and get up to 200 kts without exceeding it before the start gate… roll on race day!

Baikonur - Air & Space Magazine
A lonely, weathered marker standing next to Site 1 at Baikonur Cosmodrome informs visitors that this is where it all began. The marker, a simple concrete obelisk topped with a small metal sphere, commemorates the launch of Sputnik from this site almost 50 years and hundreds   of launches ago. As you climb the steps from the Sputnik monument and stroll the short walkway to the launchpad, the concrete—worn away to expose rusted reinforcing bars beneath—crackles underfoot like a broken windshield. Paint ripples off the nearby blockhouses. Yuri Gagarin, the first space explorer, also launched from this pad. ...
