Vulcan appeal '558' Please Help from AirshowEuro by WireFox
Whilst on a fact-finding mission today 1-3-09 at Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire. I was able to see at first hand the efforts being made buy the Vulcan to the Sky Trust people. When I entered the hangar today, I must say that the 'mood' was pretty 'upbeat' and not all 'doom and gloom'. Yes, there is a long way to go, but whilst I was there, I was informed that cash pledges were coming in well, and that the 'tally' was to the tune of being half way there. The facts are this, that if, by this friday the 6th of March the Trust cannot raise £1m to fund this years airshow season running costs, then quite simply thats it for this piece of history of which a lots of people have given there time and money in the hope that this aircraft stay's alive for around 8 to 10 years. ...

Burnelli CBY-3 from The Unwanted Blog by admin
On display at the New England Air Museum in Connecticut is the rather sad carcass of the Burnelli CBY-3 prototype. This 1944 cargo transport used the "lifting fuselage principle, as most of Burnellis designs did, to increase lift. The aircraft on display has obviously seen better days. The tailbooms and horizontal stabilizer have been removed (at least they were when I took these photos in late 2007), and are stored within the fuselage.
