Family Day celebrates first flight, holidays
Celebrate the 105th anniversary of the first heavier-than-air powered flight and make paper flight-related ornaments during this month’s Family Day on Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitors can learn about the “Twelve Seconds that Changed the World” during a presentation in the Carney Auditorium at 11 a.m. Families will also be able to compare heavier-than-air flight to lighter-than-air flight by observing model hot air balloons being launched. This activity will take place throughout the day in the Modern Flight Gallery.

To celebrate the holiday season, visitors can make paper flight-related ornaments. This free activity takes place in the Modern Flight Gallery and visitors are encouraged to stop by anytime between 1 and 3 p.m. to participate.

Expect new look for next month’s ‘News & Notes’
The museum’s e-newsletter, “News & Notes”, will have a different look when it is delivered to your e-mail inbox next month. The redesign will allow for many improvements. For example, images will be included directly in the e-mail, rather than by clicking on a PDF file.

We are excited about this upgrade, but want to continue to make sure the e-newsletter is meeting your needs. Please take a few minutes to give us feedback at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=i0lKCk4W1_2b8VjeebgRsv3w_3d_3d.

Tell us what you currently enjoy about “News & Notes” and what you would like to see in future editions of the e-newsletter.
