Plainview, Texas, June 5th, 2010 – Twenty six aircraft are scheduled to vie for glory and prize in the West Texas 100 Air Race to be held on Saturday June 5th, 2010 in Plainview, TX. Aircraft will assemble from Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, and Texas for this important race of the 2010 race season.
The 2010 West Texas 100 Air Race will be a four-turn, 100-nautical mile timed event for Production and Experimental aircraft. Competitors will meet to fulfill their quest for season points and the ultimate Gold award. The race coincides with a fly-in and communities activities held at the Plainview airport.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force was recently recognized with the 2009 Air Force Heritage Award by the USAF History and Museums Program for its The Badge of Honor: 100 Missions Up North exhibit.
Opened in March of 2009, the exhibit focuses on the achievements and gallantry of USAF aircrews that completed 100 combat missions over North Vietnam during OPERATION ROLLING THUNDER from 1965-1968. The displays revolve around the "100 Mission patch," which became a symbolic mark of courage during this time. The exhibit features more than 50 historical photographs, approximately 100 artifacts, such as flight suits, boonie hats, unique patches, and first-hand accounts of the courage of many U.S. Air Force pilots and crewman. It also incorporates a new interactive touch-screen with video and photo content. This major exhibit is detailed with great historical accuracy of the dangerous missions performed by USAF Airmen and their remarkable achievements. ...
