DRAGON AVIATION ANNOUNCES – “DRAGON II”

As a result of mechanical issues Dragon Aviation’s air show aircraft “The Dragon” was unfortunately forced into an untimely retirement earlier this year, however, Andy Anderson President of Dragon Aviation has announced that “Dragon II “is now at its new home base in Tennessee and is currently undergoing the artwork to complete the transformation to “Dragon II”.

Andy and his partner in the air show act “Red Star and The Dragon” Jerry Conley flew “Dragon II” in from Seattle Washington on June 5th and like “The Dragon,” “Dragon II” is a BAC 167 Strikemaster. “Dragon II was rebuilt in 2004 at a cost of over $750,000.00 and is both an Oshkosh and Sun & Fun Grand Champion and Golden Wrench Award Winner.

“The Dragon” was one of the most photographed aircraft on the air show circuit, and she will be missed by us all. But, I must say that “Dragon II” is a wonderful aircraft that has been painstakingly and meticulously rebuilt to nearly the status of a new aircraft. She is most likely the finest example of a Strikemaster in the world; she will carry on the “Dragon” trademark for us for many years to come. We have planned debut of “Dragon II” to be at the Battle Creek Michigan Air Show the weekend of July 4th.” stated Andy.

Photos of “Dragon II” will be posted on “Red Star and The Dragon’s” web site very soon. To see the photos and for information on the air show act “Red Star and The Dragon” go to www.jerrythejet.com
