The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are headed to the West Coast for 2010 and are only scheduled to make three appearances this year!  One at the Fairchild AFB in Washington State...one at Pt Magu  down  south  near San Diego and one RIGHT HERE on the Central Coast - at the California International Airshow on October 2nd and 3rd at the Salinas Airport... That's it for 2010!  So if you want to see "America's Team" - the Thunderbirds in their new Jets - This is the place to see them!  Salinas!  Call 1-888-845-SHOW or www.salinasairshow.com for tickets

 

Aerobatic Racing Challenge hits the Skies above Salinas

                          challenge     This years' show will be even more exciting  as the Aerobatic Racing Challenge debuts in the skies above Salinas with pilots Bill Cornick and Spencer Suderman.  You don't want to miss this first ever appearance of ARC.  What is ARC?  It's an exciting new type of racing with high-performance aerobatic aircraft competing in a vertical race course!  Start your engines and be sure to check out this exciting side by side racing action.

jetwestWe' ve just gotten word that Monster Trucks will be roaring their way into the Airshow this year...Get Ready for Iron Outlaw, The Bounty Hunter and Scarlet Bandit! 

 

PLUS....we have just heard from one of our favorite military Demo teams - the F-15 Strike Eagle Team will be joining the Show!  YEA!  Who doesn't love the smell of JET FUEL in the MORNING! 

 AND for the VERY FIRST TIME - a B-1 will take part in the Airshow!

 

Not sure if you saw the Coverage on the US Open (both Local and National) - but  one of our Sponsors -The Don Chapin Company - provided the sand for the sand traps out at the US Open this year - even dyeing some of the sand green so it looked good for TV from the Blimp!  Next time you see Don - just call him "The Sandman"!

 Also - big Congrats going out to one of our long time volunteers Dave Novarina who was just named "Tenant of the Year" at the Salinas Municipal Airport.  Dave is our "Plane Wrangler" - Congrats DAVE!
