EAA AirVenture- Chandy Clanton, 36 was to fly in Friday's, July 31 first all women airshow during AirVenture this year. But on Friday, July 10, while piloting her Zivko Edge 540 during a training flight near Tarkio, MO, Chandy crashed into a bean field and died instantly. All who knew and loved Chandy are grieving her loss.
She flew at the 2003 World Championships in Lakeland, Florida, where she was the youngest female pilot. Chandy won the Programme Q flight at the 2007 Championships in Granada, Spain. She was the only woman named to the 2003 "Stars of Tomorrow" program and has performed before hundreds of thousands of spectators at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh; she was the only "Stars" performer invited back for the 2004 and 2005 shows. Chandy was a gifted pilot who flew many types of aircraft including the Piper Cub, P-51 Mustang, Lear Jet, King Air, numerous light twins and countless high performance single engine airplanes. ...

During tests last wed an anomaly was uncovered(I believe tail incidence) that requires understanding before continuing with the testing. Not a serious issue ,may require moving tail incidence but will prevent completing test program before reno this year.For our supporters were sorry and keep the faith,this is really a huge undertaking

I see on the Dago Red website there are some new photos and notes...I was surprised to see in the "Note from Steve" that they intend to go for the 3 km speed record when she is flying again...Dago going faster will certainly make things interesting in the future....YIKES!!!

Wings Miniature Aircraft Society to hold air show - KFDA
The event is Sunday, August 9th from 9 am until 5 pm at the Abernathy Aerodrome. The air show will celebrate military aviation of the past and present through a model air show. Tickets are $5 for adults and kids 12 and under get in free.
