INCREASED AIR SHOW ATTENDANCE TO BE FEATURED ON CBS EVENING NEWS

Increased attendance at North American air shows during the 2009 season will be the focus of a feature story on the CBS Evening News on the evening of either Saturday, August 22 or Sunday, August 23. (Consult your local listings to determine when the CBS Evening News airs in your market.) The product of a four-month public relations campaign at ICAS headquarters, the segment was filmed at the California International Air Show in Salinas, California on August 7 and 8. Earlier this year, similar stories appeared in the Los Angeles Times and more than three dozen other newspapers.

“Increased attendance at air shows is news, not just within the air show community, but in the consumer press, as well,” said ICAS President John Cudahy. “CBS recognized this and has committed considerable resources to develop and produce this story. I hope that all of our members find a few minutes to watch it on Thursday night.”
