LiveAirShowTV Resumes Reno Coverage - PFLUGERVILLE, TX – SEPTEMBER 30, 2011 – LiveAirShowTV has resumed its coverage of the 48th Reno National Championship Air Races with Friday September 16th Race Report. “Many factors went into our decision to stand down following the crash of the Galloping Ghost” said LiveAirShowTV President Jeff Lee. “First off, we are not a breaking news organization. The broadcast media can get information out faster, and things were moving very fast that day. Second, we needed time to process what we had witnessed so that the information we presented in our stories was factual straight forward. Finally, we wanted to be sensitive to those who were directly affected by this tragedy.”  Prior to the Unlimited Gold race, there was a full day of racing action. The LiveAirShowTV team covered the races, news from the Pits, and sat down with Reno President and CEO Mike Houghton. This is the report that would have posted late Friday night.  LiveAirShowTV will be presenting more stories from Reno, as well as several air shows this fall including Wings Over Houston in two weeks. Watch for other news on our web site. Our Facebook fan page has several pictures from Reno and past air shows, as well as a weekly feature “This Week in Aviation History”. You can also follow us on Twitter. LiveAirShowTV continues to be the “Eyes and Ears of Aviation, Today!”

Curtiss Heritage Trail now marks historic sites in and around Hammondsport where Curtiss worked and developed the innovative motorcycles and airplanes for which he is remembered. For more information about the Heritage Trail, contact Executive Director Trafford Doherty.

The trail consists of six post-mounted displays marking the following locations:
  • The Curtiss bike shopHeritage Trail

We hope that local residents will take pride in Curtiss's accomplishments and that visitors will come to understand the significance of this area to early aviation."
The Curtiss Heritage Trail is the culmination of a two-year project sponsored by the Museum.
Free maps of the Curtiss Heritage Trail are available at the Glenn Curtiss Museum, which is located at 8419 State Rt. 54 in Hammondsport. The Museum is open every Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and every Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm through October 31. Beginning November 1, Museum hours are 10 am to 4 pm daily.
