F-22 Performances cancelled for remainder of 2011 Air Show Season - International Council of Air Shows | Officials at U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command announced this morning
that all air show performances of the F-22 Raptor during the 2011 air
show season have been cancelled. This action will permit F-22 wings to
focus all flying activity toward returning the F-22 to mission-ready
status. The Air Force currently plans to return the F-22 to a full air
show performance schedule during the 2012 air show season.

Monterey Park remembers Flying Tigers
- Pasdena Star-News | MONTEREY PARK - A silk map, aviator uniforms, a
small statue and more than 2,000 other artifacts from World War II China
were donated by private collectors Monday to the to the Pearl
Harbor-based Pacific Aviation Museum during a small ceremony at Monterey
Park City Hall. The artifacts will go a long way in commemorating the
relationship between China and the U.S. during WWII, noted retired Adm.
Ronald Hays, who chairs the museum's board. The items will be flown
later this week to Ford Island, Hawaii, where, on Oct. 27, the museum
will unveil an exhibit dedicated to the contribution of Chinese and
Chinese Americans during WWII, especially those of the Flying Tigers
unit. The Flying Tigers was the name give to a volunteer group of
American and Chinese aviators that fought the Japanese in the Pacific.
