Dayton, Ohio – Vectren Dayton Air Show officials announced today the addition of two dynamic performers to the 2011 show, which will be held on July 23rd and 24th. The Golden Knights, the elite U.S. Army Parachute Team, and award-winning pilot extraordinaire, Sean D. Tucker, will perform at the 37th annual Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger. The premier summer event occurs at the Dayton International Airport.
Last appearing at Dayton in 2009, the Golden Knights inspire audiences of all ages with their patriotism and exciting maneuvers. Formed in 1959, the Golden Knights are the Army’s official demonstration team. Members are drawn from US Army paratroopers who have demonstrated excellence in parachuting skills. They will thrill spectators with their intricate canopy work along with skydiving formations and landings that require extreme precision. Hailing from Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, these Ambassadors of the Army represent the skill and professionalism of U.S. soldiers serving all over the world.
More than 80 million people have witnessed the hard-charging and highly-entertaining aerobatic maneuvers of air show legend, Sean D. Tucker. Spectators at the 2011 Vectren Dayton Air Show are sure to be impressed as Sean puts his Oracle Challenger bi-plane through a rigorous performance, requiring practice three times daily. The 2008 National Aviation Hall of Fame Enshrinee, Sean D. Tucker sets the standard of aerobatic excellence with the passion and perfection he brings to every show.
“We’re thrilled with these additions to our show,” said Michael Emoff, Chairman of the United States Air & Trade Show Board of Trustees, producers of the show. “These exciting attractions together with those announced in December are the beginning of what will be an awesome show. What’s even better is that we will add more terrific features in the coming months,” Emoff added.

Also previously announced are first time appearances by the Red Bull Helicopter flown by Chuck Aaron along with industry first, an all-women wing walking routine featuring pilot Melissa Pemberton and Carol Pilon. Rounding out the line-up will be crowd favorite, Tora Tora Tora, an eight-plane emotional reenactment of the bombing of Pearl Harbor complete with pyrotechnics.
