Greg Poe’s Elevate Your Life Program Reaches Goal of 10,000 Children in 2010

San Antonio, TX - After committing in early 2010 to speak to over 10,000 students, Greg Poe and his Elevate Your Life program reached their goal while in San Antonio for their last airshow of the 2010 season.

Poe’s Elevate Your Life program, the action arm of the Ryan J. Poe Foundation, is a youth outreach program designed to share his amazing story of hard work and accomplishment with middle school aged children all over North America. This exciting and nationally recognized program came about as a result of losing his son Ryan to heroin addiction in August, 2002. The Ryan J. Poe Foundation is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization.

“It was a busy year,” said Poe after the last presentation. “We set this goal for ourselves with the intention of reaching out to these kids with what we feel is a very positive and necessary message. What we saw along the way is that there is a wealth of need for the message, but at the same time there is a nation full of talented youngsters who really want someone to help them realize their dreams and tap their hidden potential.”

Poe visits schools and youth organizations while appearing at local airshows. Most schools host an essay contest, and the winners fly with Poe and his team in their airshow aircraft.

Greg Gibson, Coordinator for Poe’s airshow team and Director of the Ryan J. Poe Foundation, congratulated the schools for their support of their program. “These kids are looking for ways to channel the energy and natural wonder they have for things that interest them. This program is a doorway for them to realize that their future is theirs to control and they have it within them to achieve anything they want.” 

The team plans to increase the program’s impact in 2011 with new features and a goal to reach even more kids with their inspiring message.
