Both options are costly, and one comes with something of a moral dilemma: No one wants to knock down a piece of World War II history.
"I would hate to see it get torn down," said Mary Colton, who parks her plane in the hangar. But, "you can't leave it the way it is, either."
The hangar is showing its age. The front end is sagging. No one's been able to shut the doors since the 1970s. Airport managers shored up the front end to fix a deteriorating truss. That was three years ago — a temporary fix that was good for five years.
