Greetings! The Museum of Flight offers free general admission every day to youths 17 and under now through Dec. 20. This opportunity is provided through a generous grant from the Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation, whose good works support many local social and educational initiatives.
As part of the support, a Museum exhibit will introduce the public to the remarkable story of long-time Seattle resident Norman Archibald, who passed away on Sept. 21, 1975. A WWI pilot, Mr. Archibald authored the popular book "Heaven High, Hell Deep," published in 1935. The book details his training and experiences as a WWI Army Air Service pilot. Not long after he started flying along the German front in France, he was shot down, captured and then sent to a prisoner of war camp.
The foundation created in Mr. Archibald's name has completed more than 30 years of grant-making to charitable organizations within the Puget Sound region, giving over $12 million to qualified organizations such as The Museum of Flight. Sincerely, The Museum of Flight | | | |
