Nevada County AirFest 2009 from

The Day of My Life from
... After finishing the remaining checks, we hear "Starfighter one to three ready to taxi." With the engine's howl increasing, we taxi past a dozen Hornets readying for their base attack display. We wait at the end of Runway 05R for our takeoff clearance. We line up. Rick pushes the throttle to 80% at the break position, reduces it to 67% for a moment, and goes and back to 90% for takeoff. My blood pressure spikes when the afterburner sets in, and I feel a gentle push in my back. At 185 knots, Rick gently lifts the nose as we approach the airshow spectators. I give a quick wave to the crowds. It's nice to see a show from the other side this time. The flaps move to the neutral position after lift off, and we're still accellerating. WOW! ...

Wales National Airshow – Swansea – 2009Originally uploaded by Rogue SoulWhat a great day this was today. Team Wildfire Update - Indy Transponder, Mike Souders
Swapped a couple of emails with Bill Statler asking him about Team Wildfire and their progress with flight testing. His response: Bad news is we have not flown yet. We now have a bad coil on #6 cylinder which we need to have repaired plus the Mojave airport dug a 5' deep trench across the front of our hangar to bury electrical lines in. Told us they would be done next week. Good news is we now have a gentleman designing and manufacturing our gear doors.
