Airshow – what do the locals think?

We know how the people in business welcome the Airshow, the more people coming to Bundaberg and spending in these uncertain times the better. However, what do the locals think? Our Airshow media co-ordinator Ted Lake spoke to locals in various locations around our region.

Frank and Sheryl Charles live at Kepnock and Bargara. Frank is a former flyer so has a genuine love of all things aeronautical. “This is the most inexpensive way to satisfy my life long devotion to flying. It can be a very expensive hobby but here in Bundaberg we have access to possibly the cheapest flying schools in Australia. I will most certainly be there with my wife.”

Lorraine and Tim Hand live under the airport runway approach at Avoca. “We love the buzz and the excitement” said Lorraine. “We will certainly be attending the show and greatly looking forward to it. We know of friends who have visitors from interstate so this really is a very positive event. We are pleased that the council is backing it to the hilt and if they weren’t we would be asking many questions at election time”.

Marie Wood lives in North Bundaberg. “I really welcome the Airshow. It brings our region alive like no other event I know. I have yet to speak to anyone who does not share my opinion but we all know you can’t please everyone. Full marks to Wide Bay Australia Bank for promoting it. Money well spent!”

Delphine Geck will be coming to the Airshow from Mundubbera with husband Vic. “We have no particular interest in flying but we love the excitement. This is a great event for our region and gels us together like no other. It is a fantastic day out for the whole family with lots to do and see. Not only aircraft but many handicraft and nick-knack stands. We are really looking forward to it” said Delphine.

You can not miss this great family day out to view the most exiting flying displays seen in Australia. The Bundaberg Airshow spectacular is flying this weekend. Come along and just feel the noise.
