Miramar Airshow - Yesterday, I took the girls to the MCAS Miramar Airshow. KC stayed home and caught up with laundry big time. All our dresser drawers are stuffed now! Thanks Mom! So Josie, Gem and I along with about a quarter million other people headed to Miramar yesterday to catch the Blue Angels and take in the fair-like atmostphere along the flight line. First we walked around a lot of static displays. The girls walked through a twin-engine Chinook Helicopter. Right next to it was a Heuy…

Amberley Air Show 2008, Australia - Some More Images by fotofocus
Some more images from the Amberley air show yesterday. An event such as this is an excellent photographic opportunity. This is work for a long lens, here I used the Nikon 300mm f/4.0 lens and a Nikon D2H camera, together with a monopod. A monopod is excellent for this type of work particularly where there is a crowd, as there was at this event. Generally tripod legs get in the way when there are people around. A monopod also gives more flexibility to move quickly to a new position.

This Week In Military/Aviation History 6 - 12 October from Warbirds Online by Tom Kwiatkowski Sr.
Hello Folks, for me, not only is another week gone, but another year is gone. I’m another year older and deeper in debt. St. Peter don’t you call me, cause I can’t go, I owe my soul to the medicine/gasoline/electricity/grocery store. Not to mention the bailout. I think the government should give everyone over 60 who are on a fixed income $1 million dollars to get them by. If they don’t use it all before they go west, then they can have it back to put in the social security plan for others their age to use. It would also help the banks and the mortgage companies ’cause they could pay off their mortgages and deposit the rest in the bank and live off the interest. Most people over 60 on a fixed income wouldn’t want much, at least I wouldn’t. Just being able to live comfortably without worrying about where I’m gonna get the money for my medicine/gasoline/electricity and groceries would be nice. Aw, hell, dream on. Let’s get down to some serious history, shall we?Have an AB FAN week,Take Care and Be Safe,Tom K.
