Rare Bear Landing Gear Failure / Reno Air Race and Airshow 2008 from Keith Breazeal Video Productions - by keith
Rare Bear experienced a right landing gear failure after the last race on Friday. John Penny went through all the procedures to get the gear down while the T-33 Pace Plane monitored the situation. John departed toward the North, away from the crowd, and pulled a very tight high G turn that brought the gear down. The crew worked on Rare Bear to resolve the gear issue and get the plane back into the Gold Race on Sunday. Hopes for the win were dashed when the engine let go during the Gold Race. John Penney saved Rare Bear twice in three days.

Aviation Airshow Air Race Photography Discussion - New Trace Racer!!! from http://www.aafo.com/
No, the Trace will go into an entirely new NXT kit. I kept one kit for just such an occasion. It will be a single seat NXT and with Andy Chiavetta's help we should have no problem getting it flying early next year. Andy will do the fuselage, Parker has agreed to help me with the mount, The Trace Engine is already certified the engine and needs only minor changes to reach over 800hp, and I have compelted about 30% of the new wing already!

A Few Photos by paintinglady
Well, I had a lovely meeting with Claudia Massie and her adorable daughter today, her blog is well worth a visit as she is a very talented artist. We took a walk around the galleries and DCA in Dundee and I do believe we both got the urge to do some printmaking again after a quick saunter around the printmaking workshop.
Finally, I got around to having a look at the weekend's photographs, I am a bit disappointed. The wet weather and low-lying cloud really has done the sea ones no favours and as for Leuchars air show - pfffft!
I loved these WWII-dressed people, though, and couldn't resist a couple of shots:
