Air Zoo Adds New Plane to its Collection - Air Zoo Newsletter | Heath Baby Bullet | A new plane-a 1928 Heath Baby Bullet-is now on display in the Air Zoo for visitors to enjoy. The Baby Bullet is a homebuilt aircraft kit created by the Heath Airplane Co. It was used in various air races and air fairs throughout the U.S. and Canada during the Golden Age of Aviation. Hundreds of kits were sold. However, many were never built. The Air Zoo's Baby Bullet is currently the only one that is registered under the Federal Aviation Administration. David C. Cleavinger, of Livonia, donated the plane to the Air Zoo in 2009. It was originally built in 1933 by aviation enthusiast and machinist Perry D. Hansen, of Lansing.
