ROCKY MOUNTAIN AIRSHOW, WEEKEND LINEUP OF CAN’T MISS AVIATION PERFORMANCES SLATED TO IMPRESS



DENVER, Colorado, August 3, 2011: With less than 30 days left on the countdown to the Front Range’s most anticipated aviation event of the year, the schedule of performers keeps growing – as does the excitement for this year’s event, which is sure to be bigger and better than ever. The 32nd Annual Rocky Mountain Airshow will be comprised of thrilling aerobatics, afterburners and pyrotechnics, including an appearance by the B2 Stealth Bomber. The show will feature a “Walk Through Time” in the air and on the ground. There will be a living history performance comprised of a number of the nation’s premier flying vintage aircraft, both military & civilian, along with the nation’s best private collections of military vehicles and re-enactors. The culmination is a pyrotechnic remembrance of America’s battles for freedom, including the attack on Pearl Harbor re-enactment presented by TORA! TORA! TORA! - appearing in Colorado for the first time.

• USN - F/A -18C Hornet flight demonstration
• CAF presents Tora!-Tora!-Tora!, a re-creation of the attack on Pearl Harbor!

Throughout the weekend, there will be no shortage of displays and exhibits to experience on the ramp! See live radar with Dr. Wurman and the Storm Chasers in the Doppler Radar Tuck as well as a Living WWII museum with Heroes & Patriots in person along with displays. There will also be exhibits by Ball Aerospace, Redstone College, local aviation clubs and one of the largest encampments in the state containing a huge international collection of military trucks, transports and support vehicles.

Between performances, families will be able to enjoy the many vendors present, as well as the Adventure Zone™. This exciting kid’s area is slated to inspire today’s youth through aviation. Hands-on activities, inspirational speakers and numerous opportunities aim to get their feet in the air.

Also a part of the Rocky Mountain Airshow is the Rocky Mountain Regional Fly-In, which hosts hundreds of aircraft from around the country, national aviation vendors and thousands of pilots looking to see the latest aviation products and services. Over 25,000 people attended last year and attendance is expected to surpass 35,000 people this year as the Airshow continues to expand its offerings and grow in popularity.
