Summer may be winding down, but there's a hot line-up of programs at the Museum this August!
To start, the Museum will continue to offer tours of our Boeing B-17, the Boeing Bee every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (staffing and weather permitting.) Find out more about this magnificent aircraft--and on select days throughout August, we will also be holding drawings for interior tours of the aircraft!
A brass quintet from the 133rd Army band will perform outside the Museum's east entrance on Saturday, August 13 from 1 to 2 p.m. And don't forget that every weekend we have Family Workshops sponsored by Bank of America at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. This month, join us as we learn about helicopters!
Internationally recognized artist Michael Reagan has created over 2,200 custom, hand-drawn portraits of service men and women killed in Iraq or Afghanistan. Each drawing was done free of charge for the family fo the fallen service person. Reagan will discuss his "Fallen Heroes Project" on Saturday, August 20 at 2 p.m. in the Allen Theater.
Author James H. Keefe III will talk about his award-winning book "Two Gold Coins and a Prayer - The Epic Journey of a World War II Bomber Pilot and POW" the story of his father's dramatic World War II experiences as a downed bomber pilot and prisoner of war on Saturday, August 27 at 2 p.m. in the Allen Theater.
