Vectren Dayton Air Show and Dayton Visual Arts Center partner to develop 2011 commemorative event poster

Dayton, Ohio – The Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger today announced a partnership
with the Dayton Visual Arts Center (DVAC). The two entities will join to stage a competition, with
area artists invited to design an artwork on which a new, annual commemorative art poster will be
based. The original, two-dimensional piece of artwork, selected by a jury of representatives from
DVAC, the Air Show and the community, will proudly represent the Air Show and the Dayton
community.

“This project creates a wonderful collaboration of arts and aviation in our community,” stated
Michael Emoff, Chairman of the United States Air & Trade Show Board of Trustees, the governing
organization of the show. “We are excited about the prospect of talented local artists being involved
in the development of a unique art piece for the Air Show. The poster is a very important part of
the show’s identity each year,” he added.

The project will be administered as part of DVAC’s call for artists’ donations to their Annual Art
Auction. Those artists interested in participating in the competition can obtain more information by
contacting the Dayton Visual Arts Center at (937) 224-3922 or dvac@daytonvisualarts.org. The
deadline for entries is Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011.

The original artwork that is selected will be available for sale at the DVAC auction, scheduled for
April 29, 2011. A select number of art posters based on the winning piece will be printed for use by
the show and for distribution throughout the community.

The 37th Annual Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger will take place on July 23 and 24,
2011, at the Dayton International Airport. Air Show representatives expect to announce the
headliner and several feature attractions of the 2011 line-up next week.
