Jon Sharp, coming back from a kidney transplant last year, sets the worlds record for class C-1b aircraft at 356mph. That was pretty good, considering he had a direct cross wind gusting up to 25 mph. He said it’s as rough a ride he’s ever had in an airplane. No doubt he can break the record again someday. He claims he’s done 390mph at Reno. Story at Airventure.com.

The final demo flight at Oshkosh of the Bridenstine DKNY Rocket Racer will take place today at 2:30 pm (3:30pm ET). I expect that AirVenture radio will have another live broadcast. BONHOMME IN POLE POSITION Britain’s Paul Bonhomme won the pole position on Saturday for the Red Bull Air Race in London on Sunday after posting the fastest time in Qualifying on the course over the River Thames in front of 17,500 spectators.
