Priyanka Chopra (Voice of Ishani) Flies To New Creative Heights in #DisneyPlanes

Priyanka Chopra Flies To New Creative Heights with ‘Disney’s Planes’ | Actress Priyanka Chopra, one of the biggest stars to surface from Indiana cinema within the past decade, will should gain even more notice as the voice of Ishani in Disney’s Planes. A lifelong fan of Disney features, Chopra was glad she didn’t have to get all dolled up during the film’s production. “I’m a very jeans and shirt kind of girl, generally, in life when I don’t have to go through glam,” said Chopra, who starred last year in the critically acclaimed film Barfi!. “So I used to come in the studio in just jeans and a t-shirt, but generally I like getting dressed up. I’m really girlie, that’s the one edge we have over boys. (But) I could be comfortable in the Disney studio and spend the whole day with the team. Everybody was so much fun to hang out with. (We would) have lunch in the cafeteria and talk about all the other movies that were going on. Just to see the whole process of creating the animation - all that was super cool. The next time I do (voice animation) I’ll come in sweats! (laughs)”...

Priyanka Chopra Records New Song For Disney’s “Planes” | Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, who will be voicing the character of Ishani in Disney’s upcoming animated film Planes, has debuted a new song titled “Fly High” for the film. “From the first time that the team from Disney proposed that I sing Fly High, I was hugely excited. I love the song and believe that it is a great way to introduce audiences across the world to my character Ishani. The song captures the essence of who Ishani is — sassy and strong and on par with all the boys! It’s actually the first time that I have lent my voice to one of my films and this is very exciting for me! The response has been fabulous and I’m humbled and happy!”...

Priyanka Chopra sings Ishani’s song in Disney’s Planes! | An animated (literally) Priyanka Chopra has sung an upbeat number for her character Ishani in Disney’s animated film Planes. After making a dashing entry into the world of music last year with her single In my city, it looks like Priyanka certainly is taking her new role as a singer very seriously. This song oozes confidence, style and attitude and is completely in sync with Priyanka the actress. Of course you cannot ignore the resemblance PC’s character in the film has to her own journey in Bollywood – Ishani, like PC, is keen on making a mark in a race that is male dominated. No one can deny how PC has managed to stand her own ground in a Khan-dominated B-town, no?

But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar. “Disney’s Planes” takes off in theaters on Aug. 9, 2013.

Disney's 'Planes' gets a lift from vocals by Priyanka Chopra
New York Daily News | Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra landed a voice-over role in Disney’s new animated adventure “Planes” — and she’s very particular about how that voice sounds. The 31-year-old actress, singer and 2000 Miss World winner says she wanted to make sure her character, the spunky plane Ishani, and the love interest of the film’s hero, Dusty Cropper (Dane Cook), sounded like herself — not a cliché. “You know that stereotypical accent that most people see Indians speak with in movies?” says Chopra, who grew up in Bareilly, India, and lived briefly in the U.S. as a teenager. “I was clear [with the filmmakers] that I didn’t want that. That’s really not how we speak. I wanted to keep it real.” Chopra is used to doing vocal dubbing during postproduction for Bollywood films — but voicing an animated character is a different kind of challenge...
