Plane crashes during Louisa air show; no one hurt - The Daily Progress | A small plane crashed while landing Saturday morning during the Louisa County Air Fair, state police said. No one was injured. The crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at the Louisa County/Freeman Field Airport. State police responded to the scene after the pilot of a 1929 Fleet fixed-wing, single-engine plane was attempting to land when a malfunction with the brakes occurred. The plane ran off the runway to the left and struck an embankment before overturning and coming to rest on the cockpit, police said....

Another Great Aviator and Builder Gone - Nordo News | Waking up from my own bed for a change, things were going well. Then I opened my email. Jim Moss had died (September 1st, 2013). Jim’s aviation history is long and storied but most of today’s generations know him for his replicas, the Super Solution and Gee Bee QED. What I remember most though is how he and Ginger hit it off at one airshow years ago. Jim’s shadow was long and that’s where most people naturally fell. Ginger though, with some good natured Indiana style ribbing, made him wonder who was standing in whose shadow and before long he’d put her in the Super Solution to check it out and get her picture taken...

RAAF-Restored F-111C Arrives at Pacific Aviation Museum in Hawaii By Warbirds News | The Royal Australian Air Force-restored General Dynamics F-111C that has been gifted to the Pacific Aviation Museum in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, arrived at Hickam Air Field at Joint Base Pearl Harbor a couple of nights ago, carried from RAAF-Amberley by an RAAF Boeing C-17 Globemaster. The arrival of the fuselage, was the final piece of the delivery of the plane with the wings and tail shipped separately. The plane was then pulled over to the museum’s Ford Island location over public roads in the middle of the night, so as to avoid snarling traffic.
