Uncertainty Surrounds Chicago Air & Water Show - NBC Chicago | The Chicago Air & Water Show will take flight this weekend, but the absence of several headliners has many wondering whether people will flock to the lakefront in the same numbers. This year's federal sequestration battle led to budget cuts that eliminated military planes from the Chicago show, and other shows all over the country. That means no Air Force Thunderbirds, the Navy Blue Angels or the Army Golden Knights....

Seminar Topic is: Surviving an aircraft emergency and an overview of CAP Search and Rescue capabilities. In addition to the FAA Wings Seminar, attendees are invited to arrive early (and stay later) to view our static aircraft fleet displays, witness our communications/tracking capabilities, try your hand at ELT Beacon ground tracking, and observe Cadet programs in action (including orientation flights and the launch of a near-space balloon). Hot-dogs, snacks and refreshments served for a small donation.

They've been busy for the last couple years designing and building an all new Formula One race aircraft for Reno... it's called the Wasabi Special, but its also known as the 'Siren'. You might already know that for a while Elliot was part of Team Nemesis (Jon and Patricia Sharp, last raced in 2009) which is very well know for having been the first team to break 400mph with a Sport Class racer (actually Super Sport at the time) - and Elliot's exposure to the amazing design of the very successful Nemesis NXT has trickled down somewhat into the much smaller Continental O-200 powered Formula One Class Siren. Lockheed C-5 Galaxy Lands at Air Mobility Command Museum Warbirds News | Last week, a US Air Force Lockheed C-5A Galaxy landed at the Air Mobility Command Museum, located at Dover AFB in Dover, Delaware. The plane arrived with just a few day’s notice, moved from its operating base in Memphis to clear tarmac space. Due to accounting weirdness relating to the end of the federal government’s fiscal year, the plane will not officially belong to the museum until October, however....
