Patriots Jet Team speeds up Seafair - The Seattle Times | The way Mojo tells it, a tail slide sounds harrowing. “The jet goes vertical,” he says, demonstrating with his hand angled up at the sky. “Then the engine stops, and the plane starts flying backward” in a free fall. Mojo, also known as Jeff Jess, is a support pilot and ground-crew member for the Patriots Jet Team, which will perform over Lake Washington in place of the popular Blue Angels during this weekend’s Seafair festivities....

Blue Angels select former Miss Ramona for 2014 team - Ramona Sentinel | Navy Lt. j.g. (junior grade) Amber Lynn (Scott) Daniel, a former Miss Ramona, is the public affairs officer for the 2014 U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. The 32-year-old Daniel is the daughter of John and Lorrie Scott of Ramona. She was crowned Miss Ramona in 1999, the same year she graduated from Julian High School, and is a 2004 graduate of Southern Oregon University....

Reno Air Races’ New Warbird Unlimited Class Attracts Top Flight Entrants Warbirds News | While the organizers of the Reno Air Races announced the disbandment of their original “Unlimited Class” races earlier this summer, the replacement, the “Warbird Unlimited Class,” designed to accommodate the demands of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the organizers’ insurance carriers to maximize crew and spectator safety has attracted entries from the former participants of the old “Unlimited Class.” The races will be held September 11-15 at Stead Airport, a few miles north of Reno, Nevada....

Fly-in set in Oologah - Journal Record | OOLOGAH – The annual Will Rogers & Wiley Post Fly-In is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch northeast of Oologah. Pilots will land on the 2,000-foot grass airstrip adjacent to the house where Rogers was born.
