P-47s won't fly in Saturday's Shrinersfest Air Show - 14 News WFIE Evansville | EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The P-47 Thunderbolts, the World War II planes made in Evansville during the war, won't be in Saturday's Shrinersfest Air Show. Officials with the Shrinersfest say Saturday's show will still go on, but these planes won't be involved. They tell us it's to do with the weather in the area where the planes are currently on the ground and it's keeping them from arriving in Evansville. 14 News is told that the P-47's performance in Sunday's show is still undetermined....

A member of the Yankee Rotors based in Laconia, Paquin said he decided to treat himself to the adult-sized toy during a mid-life crisis. “It’s kind of like riding a dirt bike in the sky,” said Paquin of Hooksett. While his aircraft can go up to altitudes of 10,000 feet, he likes to hover around 1,000 so he can get a good look at things on the ground. Paquin was one of many pilots who flew into Sanderson’s Field on Post Road for the 22nd annual Yankee Ultralight Flyers Fly-In Camp-In event....

Cole was at the controls of a B-25 in April during the 71st reunion of the Doolittle Raiders, marking the United States bombing run on Tokyo during World War II. “I flew it in April,” Cole said in Battle Creek on Friday. “I average about once every year or two, but you have to have an instructor pilot in the right seat.
