Reno Champion Strega to be at Planes of Fame

Planes of Fame Air Museum
Planes of Fame Air Show 2011
May 14th & 15th
Chino Airport

Two Time Reno Unlimited Gold Winning  Pilot Steven Hinton will be with the Highly-Modified P-51 Mustang "Strega" at this year's Planes of Fame Air Show.

Boasting a Rolls Royce V-1649, 12 cylinder, 3800 horsepower liquid-cooled engine, Strega holds the record for the fastest lap ever at Reno Air Races, clocking in at 511 mph. The 511 lap is unofficially the fastest lap.

Steven Hinton is the youngest pilot to ever win the Unlimited Gold Race at age 22.  Ironically, the previous holder of that record was his dad Steve Hinton Sr. who won at age 26 in 1978.

Piloting Strega to her third consecutive win at last year's Reno Air Races was the now veteran Strega Pilot Steven Hinton.  Strega, with Steven at the controls, topped the 2010 field in the Unlimited Gold Class, with an average speed of 473,437 mph in a time of 6:21.146.  Steven has flewn Strega in two consecutive wins - both 2009 and 2010.

Strega and her two time Unlimited Gold winning pilot, Steven Hinton will be at this year's San Bernardino County Planes of Fame Airshow May 14-15 at Chino Airport.
